Das Stück En l’absence de choses: Choreographie für Ballett-Tänzerïnnen bildet den dritten Teil eines Triptychons, das zudem die Klangarbeit La naissance de la lumière à partir de l’esprit du feu und das Lichtballett Feux avant, la chorégraphie umfasst. In En l’absence de choses werden diese akustisch-visuellen Ausformulierungen mit Hilfe der in der Abhandlung Kinetic notations for the visual and performing arts entwickelten Notationsmethoden auf eine tänzerische Ebene geführt, die ohne zusätzliches Bühnenbild oder Gegenstände auskommt. Diese Arbeit lässt sich als tänzerischer Kontrapunkt zu den Klang- und Lichtarbeiten beschreiben, der allerdings auch für sich stehen und ganz ohne weitere Zugabe aufgeführt werden kann. Das Werk ist für Ballett-Tänzerïnnen gedacht, nimmt aber nicht nur das klassische Ballett als Ausgangspunkt, sondern v.a. ritualistische, alltägliche, arbeitstechnische und gymnastische Bewegungen, die ihren Gegenständen beraubt und kompositorisch verarbeitet werden.
The piece En l’absence de choses: Choreography for ballet dancers forms the third part of a triptych that also includes the sound work La naissance de la lumière à partir de l’esprit du feu and the light ballet Feux avant, la chorégraphie. In En l’absence de choses, these visual-acoustic formulations are taken to the level of movement – with the help of the notational methods developed in the treatise Kinetic notations for the visual and performing arts. The piece does not require any additional stage set or objects. It can be described as a dance counterpoint to the sound and light works, but it is also independent and can be performed entirely without any further additions. The work is executed by ballet dancers. However, it does not only take the classical ballet as its starting point, but especially ritualistic, everyday, gymnastics- and work-related movements that are deprived of their items and processed compositionally.
